    Default First attempt at flies.

I figure everything I ever tried to catch a bream with was ugly. These fall in that category. Picked up a fly rod and reel for ten bucks at my wife's store. Ordered fly line and all those goodies for 18$ on amazon. So I am trying something new for pretty cheap......

I think everything you made up would catch fish up here in Iowa.

Some of the most enjoyable fishing I have done was with a cane pole and popping bugs.
Your setup takes that a step further and should be great fun.

Nice flies too. Way to go.

As a teenager I caught bass on a thrift store flyrod. And streamers made from bream hooks and Christmas tree Icicles. Those were some fun times for sure

I'm waiting for the Christmas Tree decorations to hit the craft stores. Hobby Lobby started putting some out, but the icicle stuff isn't out yet....
