I think everything you made up would catch fish up here in Iowa.
I figure everything I ever tried to catch a bream with was ugly. These fall in that category. Picked up a fly rod and reel for ten bucks at my wife's store. Ordered fly line and all those goodies for 18$ on amazon. So I am trying something new for pretty cheap......
Some of the most enjoyable fishing I have done was with a cane pole and popping bugs.
Your setup takes that a step further and should be great fun.
Nice flies too. Way to go.

Not bad! Go on Fly Anglers On-line Beginning Fly Tying - Fly Anglers Online
It will help you with proportions and step by steps and really shows you how little of a material you need, and you can always switch materials on them!!
As a teenager I caught bass on a thrift store flyrod. And streamers made from bream hooks and Christmas tree Icicles. Those were some fun times for sure
