Well, Joe you can look about some and find what interests you, then ask. Those that sell on here are honest as Abe. Many will customize your selection to suit. Some are like me and do not sell.




Well I ordered some more of those rhinestones, only this time in a larger size. Should have read the reviews about the seller because they all read the same. Promises to deliver by a certain date. date comes and goes and still they haven’t shipped. Then you get a notice that they will arrive a week or so later.

Still I can’t wait to see what the jig heads will look like with these larger sized gems. I have some heads painted up and ready to go. I and thinking that once I apply a few that I will see no more need to paint the heads first. Rather just glue the gems on and done. They should completely cover the entire side of the jig. I really like the brightness of their glow.

I met a man that has the Monkey Pox. Covered in oozing sores. He handed me some papers and after he left I cut my hands off. Come to discover that he could give it to me through touch. Mostly a gay man thing now, but it is moving in on children in schools. See what happened was we invented a Small Pox vaccine, and that protected us from Monkey Pox as well. Then in 1970 we had finally eradicated Small Pox, and they stopped administering the vaccine. Now younger people no longer have immunity to either pox. So if you see someone with oozing sores, almost like they got into a mess of skeeters and scratched themselves silly, try not to touch anything after they have. Body fluids, sprays from the mouth such as sneezing, and direct contact with an oozing sores gets it done.

I heard tale that someone declared the pandemic to be over. It is not. Just wait and some more will be around. Rand Paul has been hot after the cause. He has asked that weird doctor where his money came from and where he sent money to study just such a virus. Of course it is bad form to even ask. Seems people have studied the thing and see where it was not naturally occurring, rather a made man made virus. A weapon of war. Crazy stuff going on folks.

I spent my day yesterday starving myself. Yup colonoscopy this morning. The prep was good and I am ready to get in the car and get this over with. Colon cancer is more prevelant than we imagine. Many other types of cancer actually started from colon cancer. It gets in the blood stream and now you have liver cancer, lung cancer, etc. Many will die needlessly for fear of having the procedure done. This is a huge mistake. You should get the procedure done as soon as you qualify, which is age 50, unless you have family history of such. The prep wasn’t so bad, I am just a little hungry is all. Got me some taters and some chuck roast in the old crock pot for when I get home. Mmmmmmmmm

I am serious about the procedure though. You have a responsibility to your kin to stick around and this is a good way to do that. Simplest of all to detect, diagnose, and remove. No chemicals or radiation needed. Just snip snip and done. I hope I am clean and without the dreaded cancer. I have a lot of jig heads yet to make.

Yes, I totally agree about the Colonoscopy. People don't realize just how important it is. Thank you for the reminder.

Last night I was feeling really weird……sat down and done this.








I like the idea but the colors don’t contradict. Maybe I should have gone with green eyes. Hmmmmmm…….

Hurricane coming. Looks like it is doing a hook movement. Coming at us at an angle. We have seen these types recently and there will be lots of power outages. It is being shown landing in Tampa and making its way to my home. Usually the winds have lessened by then but we have lots of trees. Erma made a huge mess of our trees.

What is happening now is our local electric companies are making deals with your electric companies to come to Florida. The caravans will preposition nearby where it is safe, and then swoop in to begin work. Co=ops are only allowed to hire other co-ops, cities- cities, and feds- feds. During Erma we had trouble getting them into the areas as evacuees were streaming back home.

Well our company bids on feeding one of the co-ops in the area. They like to choose us because the other caterers provide cold sandwiches and such, where we provide hot meals. Now the trick to getting the out of town helpers to actually commit, is in the perks. They really like helping out this particular co-op because they provide three hot delicious meals a day.

We fix scrambled eggs, sausage, toast, grits, bacon, etc for their 5:00 a.m. breakfast. Lunches and dinners are different from each other, each day. Some days we serve fried fish, another brisket, etc. So when this particular co-op sends out their requests, they get more help than what is needed. Cherry picking what is available because they feed the men. Who are very richly rewarded I understand.

Me, I have to get some gas cans filled. I use a generator to run the well, some fans, the TV, fridge, stuff like that. We will be taking cold showers. The trick is get in, get wet and turn it off. Lather up good. Then quick rinse and out. Ha Ha Ha it is kind of fun watching her think this is some kind of great plan when she starts squealing when that cold water hits her.

Well it looks like I will need to be feeding the power pole men for a period of time. All cooks will be expected to be there. The company makes big money. I hope the damage is light and we only have to feed them for a few days. I heard they eat like animals. I am not looking forward to this.


Today I have to help a friend move some of her things out from her old house. Her Ex will be away for a while so we can get in and do our thing. I hate confrontations and arguments over lamps and stuff. I remember one time I was helping ( everyone calls me ). The two stood there screaming at each other over the coffee pot I was holding in my hands. All I was doing was grabbing the coffee pot for my friend. Well the argument escalated incredibly until I made the decision to just smash the stupid thing on the floor. Afraid so. Argument over. Now no one gets the coffee pot. They realized that they should probably resist the temptation to fight over the things they really liked. LOL

I have had pickup trucks for most of my life, as did my father and both brothers. So we get asked all the time. Folks with cars get asked to box stuff and eat pizza and stuff. If you have a friend with a truck, and you decide to move, and you ask this friend to help, do the planet a favor and have everything boxed and ready to go. Nothing worse than having to box and transport. Also, don’t buy one stupid little Dominoes pizza with plain cheese and pretend that that is the way you prefer your pizza. Splurge a little. Get a three topping pizza.

Hurricanes are kind of like camping adventures. We get to eat stuff discovered in the freezer, sleep with the windows open, and sweat a lot. Well at least it isn’t August right now.

Been through a many of the Hurricanes. Last one was Katrina. I was an Electrican in those days. Those were some long hours putting services back on houses so the line crews would hook then back up when they came into the area. Three meals a day of whatever you had stocked into the service truck in cans. Sure ate a lot of tuna. Stayed out preparing for the storm until the winds reached 60 mph and they closed the roads. When the winds dropped back below 60 I was back on the road again repairing services and hooking up generators. The day after the Hurricanes blew through the misquitoes would eat you alive. Y'all be safe and take care of yourselves and the pets.

The kick is up…..and it is wide left.




They are now showing the CONE OF UNCERTAINTY as having changed. Before it was gonna hit Tampa and roll right over top of me. Now it looks like the panhandle is gonna get this one. I will still get breezes and rain, but hopefully not wide spread damage.

They say Ian will be a major hurricane when it leave Cuba. Well there is nothing for it to encounter after that but warm Gulf waters. It will probably be a fairy strong storm as it flies past me. The key for my area will be how fast it is moving. It will pass by me in the dark of night, which I hate. I prefer being able to see what is going on out there.

Still the storm is a week away and it’s path might change some more. The power company was gonna base their assessment on what they saw reported today.




Currently the Great Mullet run is upon the surf fishermen of the East Coast of Florida. Seems everything likes to eat mullet during this annual migration. A man can cast net more mullet than he and his buddies can carry. I was fishing the run a few years back and had cast a fingerling into the waves in close to snag me a redfish. Well wasn’t no redfish that grabbed that mullet. The fish that bit took off at a high rate of speed and never slowed down. I tightened hard against the 65lb braid but the fish didn’t seem to notice. I watched as 400+ yards of braid left my now burning spool. Then he stopped, and started doing aerials. It was a monster tarpon. He jumped about five times at a distance of about 300 some yards. Finally his gill plate sliced my leader and it was over.

Well I reeled in and spent some time pondering why a fish that large would rub his belly in the shallows to get the little fish. Mullet swim according to size, and there were medium sized mullet and large and really large mullet available. The bigger they are the further off the sand. Yet he chose to ease up a shallow gut to get the dinkies.

Some time after that I realized what he might have been doing. Bears do this during the salmon run. They don’t eat the fish, they strip off just the choice morsels. They stomp them to squirt out eggs to lap up. They stack their stomachs full.

Well big fish can eat large mullet, but how many can he get in his gut. Smaller sized mullet can be slid in and packed really tight. Probably digest better. Probably better nutrients from the many than the few. Either way that monster fish was eating little mullet as a preference.

Last year this time I spied a school of minnows getting whacked about. Crappie and probably bluegills were nailing them. I felt sorry for them. No where to hide. Just swim along until you get taken. I eased the boat in for a close up look and saw minnows about 1 1/2” long. BullHead minnows.

So in a lake filled with all sorts of shad, would crappie still have a preference for minnows ?

Maybe so. Maybe they even taste a little better. Who knows. However it is true that folks use minnows and not shad to live bait crappie. I am sure some use shad, but most do not. So I wondered if downsizing lures during Fall might be a good approach.

It is hard for me to tie something small. I start out with grand plans, but soon I have this hanging off, this sticking out, and I get a medium or large jig. I made this one this morning.



I want to tie some more jigs, and plan to do just that. I prefer my plastics, but ties are always fun to make up and put in jars to store away for gifting later. LOL

I plan to dip that tail into Slab Sauce and really tear them up.

Well I helped my friend move her stuff out and found this in her garage.



It is just a tool holder thingie. Magnetized. The wood is very heavy though. It will be perfect for adding eyes to my junk.

The Duco Cement does not work for eyes. I was able to rip them off after it dried. Very disappointing. So the great glue hunt saga continues.

The larger sized rhinestones I ordered…..well that has been all bad. They told me a date that I would have them. Then they hadn’t even shipped them by that date. Now two weeks later they tell me they are on the way. I would certainly have chosen another supplier had I known. Don’t tell people lies about when the goods will arrive. Once in hand, if ever, I will mention the shipping during my review. Which they have been asking me to make for them already. We still have the product here with us, but tell us what you think about it mister.

Anyways, the rhinestones I got are 5mm, because that is the size that fits inside the eye cavity of one of my jigs. The ones that are coming are 6mm. Too large but they are a good size for another jig I make that has no cavities. In fact, I can skip painting the jigs and just glue the rhinestones on and be way ahead of any color of paint.

About Wednesday the store shelves will be empty with the Hurricane out in the Gulf. Those Gulf waters will build a storm if it meanders around out there too long. Good looking tie
