Might consider using some crystal chenille by gluing the collar with a touch of super glue , then wrap the circle intended and cut the where the ends meet after glue has set,,,,hides the entire collar
I am tying some very large jigs and I need some wrapping feathers to put a large collar on them. I have some schlappen and hackle and none of them seem to do the job.
Which one has the widest coverage? Anyone have any suggestions for a seller to get the ones I really need? I have struck out trying to figure out which ones are best doing who knows how many internet searches. I want a good inch plus or more of flair but just looking at images and sites isn't giving me the information I need.

Sounds like maybe a good quality premium hackle is what you need. There are different grades of product. Talk to Patrick at Woods and Water Outdoors as he could surely help. Also here is a video that helps explain the difference.

Patrick was very helpful and sent me some samples when I was shopping for hackle.
