Wink UPDATED VIDEO Making Wax Worms from a balloon

This is the updated video on how to make wax worms for Bluegill, Crappie, Perch or White Bass from a latex balloon. I have had so many requests to do the video again so people can see the front of the vise while I am tying it. I hope you all will enjoy the video. You can see other videos on the shipahoy41 You Tube TV Channel.

Thank you all for the encouragement. Wax Worms are one of my favorite live baits but they are easily stolen by Perch, Bluegill, Shellcracker, White Bass, Trout and the Crappie. I have been working on doing a good imitation for several months. I kept buying Nymph skin from Hairline but that started to get too pricey for my budget. I found those White Sand balloons on Amazon and the rest is history. I get 250 balloons at the price I was paying for just five latex strips from Hairline. I can make 10 latex strips from each balloon. That means 10 lures from each balloon times 250 balloons. To me it is a no brainer and I personally think my latex Wax Worm from a balloon is a winner. I spray Slab Sauce on it and add a Crappie Nibble and it works like a charm and the fish cannot steal it!!!!!!

    I love it!

Check out some You Tube videos DIY Fly tying vise or How to make a fly tying vise from a block of wood. There are also some inexpensive ones on Amazon.

Great tutorial ship! Those balloon strips are smart and economical. What size bead did you use and what kind of material is it?
