I haven’t done many hair jigs but they look good to me.
So I've never tied any jigs with bucktail or kiptail. I decided to give it a try and this is the result. They are tied on 1/16th oz heads with I believe a #2 hook (sale jigs I picked up somewhere and not sure on size). I was pretty happy with the bucktail ones but feel like I'm missing something in the kiptail. So what do you all think on them? Any and all advice is appreciated!

I like them. With kiptail...they say less is more but I think yours are fine. You can always add a bit of flash in the tail if you wanted more but those will catch fish.

I tie lots of bucktail and yours look really good. Keep bucktail tied fairly tight as it will slip out if too loose. Hollow hair is a different creature too tie. Northern bucktail is more hollow than southern as our temps are cold this time of year, hence it is minus 3 this morning. Good work there.
Looks good to me! Go get them wet.
Thank you all! Ks I had seen about using less to be more and I tried to do that but with the size of the overall jig I wasn't sure how much to go with. I plan on tying some on 1/32oz heads with #8 sickle hooks and I think the kiptail will look better on those.
Grumpy, can you explain how you tie the bucktail tight? It seemed like if I tried to make it tight the hair would fray out and not want to lay flat? I tied it in as tight as I could without fraying the hair then wrapped over it a few times to try to lock it in.
Thanks again guys it makes me feel more confident in them for sure!

Sounds like you have it down pretty well, you have all ready experienced too tight. One thing I do is that right before I put my chenille on I put a drop or two of head cement on my hair wrap then chenille. You just want enough head cement to lock the tying thread to the hair a little. If you get too much it can soak out into chenille and make it hard. Another one of those less is more things. With my bucktail/ chenille jigs I use the chenille collar as a scent pad to add Slab Sauce or something to. Keep us posted on your future ties.
