I have the Renzetti Traveler 2000. I went local, BPS was out of all rotary vises in stock. Even with their warehouse a couple miles down the street, it was two weeks to get one. Local flyshop had the Renzetti Traveler on the shelf for $20.00 more. It took a ride home with me...Funny thing is, the fly shop is on the same st as BPS and just a couple blocks away...

I keep watching EBay for a good used Peak. So far when you calculate in the shipping, they are going for the price of a new one.

That's why I pullled the trigger and bought a new one. No abuse on a new one and comes with a warranty

I started out with a cheap vise that came with a $50 fly tying kit in a wooden case I got at Cabela's. The vise lasted about six months before it wouldn't hold a hook securely. Bought a Danvise and am still using it over 10 years later. The pedestal that came with the kit fit the stem so to this very day I tie my jigs on the Danvise sitting in a recliner with that beat-up wooden case in my lap while watching fishing videos on YouTube. While I don't use the rotary feature for winding chenille, I do find it useful for checking the backside of the jig while whip finishing.
    Don't worry, catch crappie.

Probably because they are new and Peak controls how low one can sell the vise. So pretty much everyone that sells Peak Vises will be the same cost. Oh and I am a Peak Dealer, but don't stock them or any vise now, just order one for someone if they want it.

I got a Renzetti off EBay for $40. The seller did not know why he had and he had poor photographs of the vise. I knew it was either a Renzetti or a knockoff. I took a chance and used the Buy it Now option. I was a great day when I got it in the mail and found it was a Renzetti.

A member, now passed on called Perchjerker1 - Tommy, contacted me when I said on the forum here that I was considering a vise. Long story as short as I can make it, Tommy sent me my Renzetti and a Danvise to try for a couple of months. He wouldn’t tell me how much he wanted for them either. Said that he would trust me to do right. I wound up buying mine for $125 including shipping and a friend bought the Dan for about $60 or so. I’ve used mine over ten years without issues and say again, this is how we do for one another - as Family. Our members are the best.

So I ended up buying the griffin odyssey spider cam vice and just received it yesterday. I have always used a fixed vice for tying with (don't remember the brand but it is not a cheapy). Tied a few jigs with it last night and I will say I like being able to look all the way around the jig while working on it. I think I like the rotary function for wrapping chenille since you see all sides of the jig as you wrap but I'm still getting used to it. Overall Im happy you all talked me into this purchase.
