I fish them with casting gear. Weight about 3 feet above the fly. Cast out, let it hit bottom and then lift and drop

I don't know anything about Salmon or Steelhead fishing, but it looks like you have it going on! Just enjoy the tying for now!

Think the same gear one would use for stripers or laketrout. 12# test, medium action rod rated for 1/2 to 1.5 ounce weight.

Only off season because my fisheries managers are complete buffoons! Should be fishing salmon and steelhead until mid January.
