Fat wire and chemically sharpened. I have used the Ultra Point circle hooks for years.

Have you had issues where the fish straighten the 1x hooks ?
Maybe they will bite this one……

No I haven’t, the issue I’m having over the last couple years is getting hooks with the eye not being closed all the way. Since not using Matzuo I’ve had issues with multiple companies. I even started paying a premium for the mustad j hook black chrome and would still get batches of eyes not being closed. I would try pinching shut and at times the eye would break other times my braid would still slip right through the gap no matter how much I was able to pinch shut. Would even happen at times using palomar knot too. So my thinking was to get a hook with a shorter distance between the eye and the hook shank so that the eye gap would sit just inside the jighead. I don’t mind paying extra for a hook to accomplish this as I’m not selling and is worth the cost over losing a fish. Also don’t have time to be gluing the gap on every hook and painting the eye of the hook would kill my OCD.
