Thank you guys, I appreciate all the kind comments.
ksnouf it really doesn't take too long for the crappie to shorten the tails, lol! The longest ones are about 2 1/2" long for the entire jig and the crappie here love them.

I’ve always appreciated the consistency of your baits. Something I struggle with, especially shorter ones. Nice work mister!

I agree with the comment crappie shorten tails. I really like feather jigs but they can strip them in bout an hour of catching.
In that amount of time they would have torn up several plastics

True to that, plastic/silicon are great when crappie are in suicide mode and I'm lazy but when they are more finicky I want my feathers and there is not anything more satisfying in fishing as catching on hand tied. Retying a jig cause it is wore out is great. I have found that when I go to plastics I really like my screw coil collar, it helps make plastic last and no more pull down.
Nothing much helps the jigs I shot under the docks. It is a hard life. Once it goes under the dock there is a chance it will not come back. Fishing open water is a lot kinder and gentler on higs.
