I was using my finger tips but Ive got big hands/fingers and the dexterity of a hippopotamus. I've found the easiest thing for me to do is pour a pile of them out at my work station and separate them a little. They orient one of two way, and I need both orientations for the mold, depending on which row Im prepping. I grab ones oriented one way for one side, and lay them NEAR the groove, and do the same for the other side with the ones oriented the proper way for that row, then the sharpened end of a wooden pencil to slide them right into the good. It allows me to rest my hand on the work bench and stay steady while holding the pencil to slide them into place. I do the same with the hooks.

You have a good method going so stick with it. If I do that I have to maintain hand control while holding an object and get that to put hook where I want it. I am not that focused to achieve before the mold cools off. LOL

Good tip - so instead of instant glue, which drys cloudy, you're using this AND as eye cover, too? I've been using gel Gorilla instant glue, and coating my entire head and body with Sally Hansen's. Obviously, not a Chenille body.....most of mine are flash strands.

I hardly cover my eyes. I get enough glue that it covers the backside of eye. Have never had an eye come off or get discolored. I have completely covered outside of eye but takes a good 48 hours to cure to where it’s doesn’t feel tacky.
