The hologram material is not bird scare. I forgot that I bought vinyl material that has an adhesive back. Trim to approximate size, peel backing, wrap ans stick it to itself, them shape with scissors.
I soaked some in a glass of water and there were no changes. It sticks in place, but does slide down the hook shank some. However, once it encounters the bend it stops sliding. So a little slop. I can always glob on some resin to freeze it to the head and prevent slippage.
I cut a thin strip and wrapped it around the jig head but it didn’t like it. The material didn’t want to stay. I added glue and resin and ended up with a disaster.
The tube jig turned out OK. I simply wrapped a thin strip around the back part, coated with tesin and cured. Now it is stuck to the jig head and the wrapped edge is coated to prevent unwrapping.
It will be interesting to see how these swim as they are very thin when viewed from below. Now sure how the material will react at speed. I imagine the jigs will plane over and begin wobbling back and forth, but they may just spin wildly or not at all. Now that I think about it, I will addthat resin afterall.
Maybe they will bite this one……
