Default My Efforts as of late

Curious to know how folks make waggle tail jigs. This one is sequins and bobber stops strung on mono, but should flap and flop about well enough anyways.

Been having a blast making “Tail Gunners”...
( as seen here thank you very much ).

I like using Drop Shot swivels as they line up perfectly every time, are easy to wrap and stick straight out the back in linear fashion.

I bought some Eyes that stick on, but too much effort required. I had to peel them free, then affix, then seal over with Sally’s stuff. I have ideas on how to paint eyes that will look good enough. These are nail polish. The orange glows in UV light.

Been really enjoying my new FreeStyle jig mold. I like the flat sided ball shape and found some nice hooks to match. Seems just about any 90 degree hook can find at least one hole to align with. My issue is I used a large ladle to pour, as I used to make 6 ounce sinkers, and it is hard to fill the cavities correctly with it. Ordered a bottom pour Lee 20lb pot to fix my problems.

I wish that DoIt could get some molds out to us as I am interested in that Bat Jig. Not for dipping down into brush piles, as designed by Batterson. Rather because it has a 60 degree eye and I am thinking that that would be better suited for trolling. Also with the shortened design, better for soft plastic movements.

The little wire bait keepers are cool. Not very often we encounter products designed for the sole purpose of upsetting the purchaser. Man what a pain those devils are. I like them, but really ? I might try to create some type of tool to deal with insertion into hot jig mold.

I been using car mitten mop materials for my chenille. Blue, yellow, gray and black. Saw some pink and orange but for now I have enough to make plenty. Again I am ripping out lengths from underneath by pulling the noodles back down through. I like this vs the other chenilles zi have because it acts like a sponge sucking up Slab Sauce. Troll all day and the lure still stinks after just that initial dip.

I am finally getting better with the whip finish tool thingie. Fast now.

I ordered some of that crinkle silver paint as I want to try my hand at that weird painted look in that other thread. Mostly got my eye on that lime green as it reminds me of lizards and gators and such. Tried to find videos on how to manage and so far nothing. I got close with searching for crackle paint, but that is for furniture and such using spray cans. Maybe it is just one of those deals you simply have to get in there and get after to figure out.

Saw Skip’s propeller blade design and that got me thinking. My propellers came but the hole is too small and they just are not large enough, so I added the large size to my melter order and wait for delivery.

I am thinking about my area and how important shad seem to be to the entire scene. Watched something slamming a school of small shad, right along the weed line. It appeared that the school was helpless and they would jump out of the water to escape. Swirls and splashes get me excited and I was able to run two planer boards dragging crank baits right through the eruption. Of course my lures did not look like baby shad so.....no bites. But it got me thinking that I should be at least trying to make my jigs look like baby shad. Saw videos on using resins and such to form a body, but would really prefer trying to build something onto a jig body.

When I started in January, I bought jigs in 1/16 and 1/32 sizes, figuring they seem so popular. Now I am pouring 1/8 - 3/16 and liking those. I push four rods and pull six, each with a single jig as double jigs and me just don’t get along well. Seems I manage to flip a jig around another line every time I go. Amazing how just one quick wrap around turns into the most complicated knot you ever saw. Simply amazing how that all works.

Anyways......have you guys seen any designs that incorporate noise makers, or flappers ?

BTW- Called Sam’s and they are fresh out of magical trampolines, so I guess crude will be my signature style. LOL
Maybe they will bite this one……

If you like, I have a bat jig mold I bought when it came out and modded it to accept a 90 degree hook that you can have just pay for the shipping. I haven’t used it in years and don’t plan on it. You can use either hook style. Simply snip off any excess lead, if any, on which ever hook eye cavity you’re not using.

Sweet. That is very nice of you. Of course I will be happy to pay the shipping costs. I mean it isn’t like I can gift you any jigs in return. LOL

I am sending you my name and address and let me know how I should render payment. Thank you very much.
