A few thoughts on jig profiles. There are many more than what is discussed but that video would have lasted 20 minutes. Post your specialty jigs if you would like. Fun to see what is out there.

When I want a big profile jig I go to Grande Estaz and that stuff is big! Here is what I mean. Believe I have tied about every kind and size profile available and all work well. I really had not looked at all the different looking profile jigs that I have tied and there are so many, way more than this, just figured this is enough for now, lol!

Thread Neck 1/32 Oz.


Propeller Jigs 1/32 Oz


As the top jig on a double drop.


1/32 Oz or 1/16 Oz. Roadrunners using Neck Hackle for the tail. Of course I mostly do marabou tails on these.


Let's not leave out Rabbit. 1/32 Oz.


And One collar jig. 1/16 Oz.


And so many more!

Saw a YouTube using duck feathers to build a minnow profile. Looked great.

I agree. Jim ties some awesome jigs. I think the only difference was the positioning of the feathers, but both definitely build unique profiles.

I like a small thread head with these so I tie them with 6/0- 8/0 uni thread. Danville 140 or 210 is too big, I use it only for bass jigs. The duck jigs are very durable, currently using the same jig the last three trips and have caught over 50 fish on that jig and still using it. Fish love these during the cold water period into summer and again in the late fall.
