    Default Tying Thread Sizes

I have been using sewing thread to tie with primarily due to being confused. I see the Denier in the 70, 140, 210 discussed, then I see the the sizes in the catalogs and on line as being like 2/0, 4/0 and such. Is their a comparison chart some where as I don't want to end up with a bunch I have no use for. Any help would be appreciated, and Thank you in advance...

Most of those are in relation to tying fly's. The 2/0, 4/0 would be for bigger jigs for saltwater/bass. If you are tying small jigs the 70/140/210 will work. I have never worked with 70 denier personally but the other two can be pulled snug without breaking and I am little rough when tying so I stick to those.
