K1ng I see so many things I don't understand about this mod. I hope it works well for you BUT, Too much offset and the 2 piece hook just makes me skeptical. Sorry if that's too much blind thinking. Keep us posted on the future of this invention. Their are no bad ideas unless one does not pursue them.

It wasn’t intentional. He didn’t want them to bend like that.

That's amazing, I've never seen this in all my years. It has to be a hook problem, the hook alloy is not tolerating heat of the lead I guess. Good luck.

That is amazing and that hook breaking there is nuts! Something bad wrong with the hook and how it was made! Maybe bad heat treatment or like GrumpyLoomis said something really wrong with the metallurgy.

I just started using some Mustad hooks about three months ago, I have never had this happen with any other hook, I think I will just go back to Eagle claw

K1ng, I am an Eagle Claw faithful but I am quite sure Mustad will be most interested in this problem. They definitely don't want this out here hurting business, I strongly recommend reaching out to them, they will listen and probably work with you resolving this problem fast. Thanks for sharing this with us.
