    Default Literally a Crappie Jig


    Has anyone ever tied anything to imatate a crappy fry?
    Here is what I'm trying to imatate. I have couple of ideas but I haven't turned it in a jig.

    Never tied one but I like the idea. Those fry are really hard to filet.

    Well that is what I got the Silver and Black Crystal for! Once that large Crystal is wet it lays back and makes a nice body so then you would have a body of silver and black.

    I cleaned some crappie about 6 weeks ago that had crappie in their belly a little smaller than the one in your picture

    Let's see your best impression.

    I know I read that crappie are cannibalistic. One of the lake I fish does not have any bait fish. So I'm guessing they eat their own. Also any other fry from other species of fish after the hatch.

    Been around biologists a long time and they all say gamefish will eat anything they catch that fits in their mouth.

    We need to not throw our old twister tails and tube bodies in the water when we are done with them. Fish simply can't digest them and depending on the size of the predator they can not extract plastic then they die.

    This may get the job done, might need a little work but the UV in the tail is spot on for what you see in a baby crappie. It looks blue in the picture but is purplish to the eye.
