I paint eyes often and have found that nail sets on up to small dowel material makes nice round eyes and quicker than my non artist hands can do it.

For eyes I use drill bits that have a flat back end. Just use one large for the first color and then one about half that size for the pupil. I have done 3 color eyes like that before, but kind of tedious, lol!

Cheap set of drill bits will do! Hey you probably have some drill bits in your tools, the paint will not hurt them, lol!

Thanks. They're 3/8 heads. I needed some 1 ounce for the current we fished for a while. That's quite a contrast to my 1/32 ounce crappie jigs.

Those jigs are pretty cool. I cannot draw a circle either. Years ago, my friend skiptomylu, showed us all how to use the end of drill bits to make eyes on jig heads. Just use two different sizes and two different paints to make two tone eyes.

Yep, Here on the Mississippi river I use jigs from 1/4 oz to 1 1/2 depending on current. When I'm 3 way rigging I use up to 2 1/2 oz pencil weights.

Fur, I make a good size dot and add a smaller one in the middle of it for my two color eyes.

All those ties are just fine, better bring a cooler when you test em.

You’re doing a great job tying those jigs. They look really good. Have you ever tried kip tail hair. It has a “crinkle” to it that you might like. I find buck tail hair doesn’t have as much action. It’s a hollow, stiffer hair. Just IMO.
