Size: 77.1 KBThis is a sample of my version, I have kinda give up on it as the lil bluegills pull it around so bad. You know lil fish will pull the legs off of their meal and then eat them. If I can stay into crappie it is an awesome bait.

I am just tying all kinds of panfish jigs, and the target species is bluegill and red ear (shellcracker). I plan to let the fish tell me what works.

I want to order some reptile rubber to tie jigs similar to LedHed's auto jigs. They sell fine, medium, and heavy. Which size do I need? Anyone know?

Not sure but think I would start with medium and then adjust if needed.

Since Sonny said he got his from LPO, and they only sell one size, I ordered some from them to try out.

As long as a few skwerls cooperate in the morning, I'm going to tie up some new ones tomorrow. I'll post a few of mine....

I ordered some stuff called Jiggly Wiggly or something like that to try on some for "worm" trailers.

EDIT: It's called Squirmy Wormy, not Jiggly Wiggly. LOL

I don’t mean to wear it out but I found the pic of the kip tails I use so much. The two on the top right, durable beyond my expectations. Merry Christmas.

Mine get snagged and broken off way before I wear them out. Next time I order supplies, I'll try some kip tail.

Jawja, the chartreuse one is proportioned better, according to the fish. The ones I put a lot of hair on caught fish but the ones that were shorter and less hair caught noticeably more. Found that out by accident after losing one and tying on one with less and a shorter tail. Changed the way I’m tying them since.

Not a jig, but a fly that the Bluegills can not pass on, lol!

    Skip

Bream Killer and has Squirrel for wing and optional tail if used.
Both types here in this pic!
