Looks like a good one to me! Black with Gray tail or Gray with Black tail have both worked well for me in the past (and currently - I have it tied on right now!)

I did confirm today that this jig will catch fish. I caught a golden shiner on it. LOL

I also saw that the fox tail hair has very little if any action..... so that's not a positive.

I tied it last night and also tied some solid white ones with marabou the same size. I caught several crappie on them today.

If marabou is working the Rabbit will also, I like the Crosscut most since you can tie the jig with just it all by itself. Of course the zonker strips can also be tied the same way and will just have a little more wilder look, but when wet I am not sure it make a difference. Some strips I like only come in zonkers so I use them the same way I do a crosscut.

I also be the Fox is not Arctic Fox? I say that because it'a more like marabou that just regular Fox hair.

While you’re at it, try tying something like a Popeye jig with that tail hair. Think minimalist and don’t use much hair on the tAil. Having tied kip tail and caught fish on it, the hair gets broken off along the way. It still catches fish like it was new. Had one that didn’t have much more than a dozen hairs on it that still worked fine. My opinion, a little less hair has. More room to move instead of being held in place by its neighbors. That gray jig would do well down here in another month in 1/32. Gray ghost pattern kinda, my favorite jig hands down.

skeet, what are you calling a Popeye jig? I thought a jig with a big white eye like I put on this one was a Popeye jig.

EDIT: Just a big white eye with no pupil?

This is my version of one, but I don't know if this fit's everyones bill for a popeye jig.

Beautiful jig Skip. That is the style I think of with popeye jig. Here are some places that sell them as well.
