    Default jig soft plastic keeper suggestion


    Posted this before. Thought it may be useful repeated for use on no barb jigs and hooks #8 and larger.
    Wouldn't leave home without them:




    end of wire should be near the curve:


    Wrap around once tightly and snip one end close to eye post and bend end even tighter:


    Bend remaining wire into an L :






    Lures last with over 50 fish caught per no matter lure size.

    Can't remember how many years ago I came up with the idea. All I know is that pushing plastic up on the jig which served to ruin it with a lure keeper barb was old long before it got old. The same wire is used, but in a different way, to keep trailers on skirted bass jigs.
