Default Been awhile; tied a few

This again, seems to be a common thing with me. It's been about a month....went to working part-time, and come home all tired out. Now I've been off a couple of days and rearranged my desk space.

I tied up a couple that were intended to be a gift. The black one is going to be what I take to give to my boss. I ain't happy with the green/black one. The others I'll offer to him as smaller jigs. He's mainly a bass guy, so I tied the two big ones with bucket mouths in mind. Name: IMG_20200423_205509.jpg

I did a re-tie on this jig and then gave it to my boss. It looks much better this time.Name: IMG_20200423_205509_copy_800x600.jpeg

I like the retie better also. Good work, and if he doesn’t like em he’s nuts or doesn’t know how to fish a jig.

I’ve given many jigs to folks over the years and I think those will do just fine. They’ll all put fish in the boat. Just a suggestion; look into a black or rusty brown rabbit zonker strip tied on a substantial hook. For many years before plastic, hair jigs were the ticket. Some tour pros still carry a hair jig because most folks these days are focused on plastic and the fish seldom see a hair jig and hit it with enthusiasm. Do a little research and you’ll see my point.

I already have been looking at zonker tying. I've been following Utube channel, Fishing N Stuff, Keith is the owner of that channel. He had a video of Zonker jigs. He showed how the hair action was crazy good!
I just haven't gotten any materials.
Kinda been more busy with a part time job....

Tied this one to see if tying these will actually be better by being more bushed out.
I went fishing today, I used about all of my color combination and jig size, except the 1/80th.
    I didn't get a bite.
    Not a single bite.
Fishing in winds up to 14mph and bands of rain in 3-6 fow...water temp was 62°. Not ideal conditions. There was rains from a couple of days earlier and an approaching cold front on the way. So the water was being let out at the dam. Maybe that alone had the fish on lock jaw for my jigs, but the cold front night have been part of it, too. We were fishing on lay downs, and some condos. The bite was happening on minnows, and tipped my jigs with a minnow eventually but that didn't get me any bite.

Here is one I tied similar to the other two I posted.
My Son, G-daugter, and wife, and myself were doing this and none of us caught anything. The bite was happening only on live minnow. I kept trying to only use a jig and a slip float bobber. But not happening for me today.Name: IMG_20200425_204121.jpg
