Tie on whatever you want, I would. The blade won't be an issue I don't think.
This slider jig has a low trailing leaf....and the Aberdeen style hook is a sz 2. I estimate this jig weight at about 1/8th oz.
I was thinking of using this type slider jig with some Marabou. But what should I do with the low leaf. This jig isn't designed right is it? I woulda thought the leaf woulda been on a frame above and in front of the hook.

If the blade is a issue, just take it off! Like you, I sure would think a bait like that would have the blade above and not under like a Roadrunner is.

I’m on a different thought on this. I think it’s going to work just fine and would be sure to tie it so that the colors orient in a natural way. Maybe a two color tie, dark top and lighter bottom. In a 1/4 with a heavier hook that would be a bass catching phenomenon.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I like the head and willow but not for feathers. Soft marabou will foul it quickly especially when jigging but stiffer bristly feathers will not. Stiff feathers will however make it ride up or twist when retrieved...

I'm thinking it's a 1/8, but I don't know if the blade is part of the weight . I don't believe it is but is additional weight. Sent from my Pixel 3 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
And I believe that's exactly what the slider is for .... A plastic worm tail up in the back to entice .Sent from my Pixel 3 using Crappie.com Fishing mobile app
