    They take our hearts like children James, and I could go on for a while. Both of our fur girls are rescues.
    Driving isn’t for everyone but it suits me, dislike micro management. Management too. Better by myself. Well over 2 1/2 million now. I don’t have to listen very hard to hear the road calling my name.

    It's been 11 yrs now since I had to climb out of my last big truck, but that hyw still calls real hard...when I'm on a trip now, I have to take more breaks than I used too, just to get the circulation back and stretch mostly, but I still go every now and then.

    Hey guys, just reading the mail...
    I just retired from driving OTR, altho my last gig was daily mail hauling from Nashville to Asheville, NC for 3 years. I still do courtesy lane change, flash lights at trucks to clear them over, let'em out in front of me so they can get out from behind a slow vehicle....but even tho I observe the truck courtesies, for me, the OTR, is only a whisper. I just started driving for my local Co-op hauling fertilizer part time...seasonal only, after spring, by June I'll be done for most part.

    Glad to hear your another survivor of the road hankll. I just helped my babe with a mess. Missouri requires all comercial drivers to go to a license office personally and turn in their medical short for. Something about having to sign a paper in front of an agent in the office that yes they did go to a dr.'s office and do the physical... Anyway with her changing companies she had to do another one, only it was in Ohio at their dr.'s office, and with this corona virus and the licensing offices closing and or cutting back hours, making it very difficult to get her paper work turned in to them, especially with her on the road...well we finally got her to an office by the skin of some teeth...at least she can keep driving anyway. I know this corona mess sure is making it difficult in more ways than I care to count...

    I now know about the FMCSA CLEARINGHOUSE.gov....
    I had to get my hazmat endorsement redone. Because of the mail route, I was already in close proximity to retirement, so I let my original hazmat go at the last license renewal. $86.50 for FBI fingerprints and background check, $8.50 for knowledge test just to drive part time for maybe 3 months...it is still a money game, but they mean business after 9/11. I got my original hazmat in 2000. Wasn't aware of the new regs.

    Yep, I had to have all that mess too. I had to leave it all behind when pains started shooting down the legs from a back injury in the service. All the jostling up and down, climbing in and out of the trucks just aggravated it till I had to quit...
    Now it's take care of the fur babies, honey does around here, and crappie fish when I can, unfortunately the fishing don't happen enough. As soon as I can I'm going to start work on my boat again...little 14' aluminum v-hull of 1969 vintage and update it. Been Watching TBNation videos on Tiny boats and liking a lot of what I'm seeing there, especially on his gen. 4 builds. Lots of ideas, just need to implement them...

    I know the in and out of the truck James, I’m in and out over 60 times a day. I do roll off for a good sized solid waste company. I’m home every day and have benefits. Also did the mail thing for 5 years, from a sorting center to a town and back, four times a day, split shift. Money was OK, shift sucked. Left it when I went to TN in’05. A few years to go before I get a check from our uncle and I need to keep working but not at all sure if that’s in the cards.

    I hope everything works out Skeet. I just couldn't take the pain no more. Doctor said if I kept at it I could be in a wheel chair before I turned 60, so I got the message. Now I'm hoping I don't need knee replacements... but don't know how long I can take this pain every time I move. It feels like bone on bone in there...

    Yeah, he is good! Very helpful for wiring and live well stuff, just plain good layout ideas!
