    Default Jig Storage

I can get carried away at times tying way more jigs than I need. So how do you store your. stash and also what boz=xes do you like for your fishing outings.

The 3/4x1/2 weatherproof closed cell rubber has the ability to shrink big time after the superglue is applied and allowed to dry overnight. Actually had a couple strips shrink over an inch.To get around the shrinking problem I have been cutting strips over an extra length.Once they dry then I can cut them to length to fill the jig box edge to edge.
The next topic SK does talk about in his video is to design a layout for you strips that fits your needs.....
I also used a dremel tool to rough up the box surface which SK also mentioned.
SK's jig box build is actually two videos. One is your material list and the second one is the video listed above showing how he builds the boxes.
SK is my hero for his good ideas.
    Thank You Kindly SK
I have built 4 boxes now to finally get the last one's layout and the rubber edge-to-edge the way I am happy with it.
Plan to make a few more.

In addition I cut lexan rectangles slightly smaller than the box opening to use for pressure when gluing in the foam. Can see foam position through the lexan before it dries to make sure it is in place. Also add weight to lexan once in position.

Thanks for the link. I like the thin one that you were using SuperDave. I use a similar one for flys.

I misworded in my reply and wrote superglue when what we use per SK's
instructions is actually Gorilla Clear Glue.Sorry for the mistake.

In your post you said you were using superglue. Why did you use this instead of the clear gorilla glue?
I've not heard anyone speak of their foam strips shrinking. Perhaps that is the cause.
Did you also use the same weatherproofing specified by SK?
Have my strips already cut and ready to glue up this weekend.
    Thanks

I have made 4 boxes with the Duck brand 1/2x3/4" weatherstrip SK call out for on the materials list video.I did use an acid (A small shop brush)brush to spread the Gorilla glue on the strips after flexing them backwards of their"memory"bend. Each and every time after they dried they shrank up to and over one inch.As I said prior the best cure is to make the strips at least one inch longer than measured so after they shrink you can cut off the excess to then have them the full edge-to-edge length. After you Gorilla glue your strips and let them dry you will see what I mean.

I do believe there is a relationship between how much Gorilla Glue you put on the strips and how much they shrink because I did notice on my strips there was different shrinkage rates.I squeezed a small bead down the center of the strip and spread side to side with the acid brush.Allowing to dry as SK instructs overnight some strips were shorter than others.I was trying to just get them coated.
Good luck with your jig box build.
