I got out on the water today, but the crappie didn't cooperate. I've never fished much at all with hand ties or tied jigs of any sort. I knew they wouldn't cast like a jig body but was surprised by the drop in casting distance of a 1/32 and the rate they sink in the water is much slower than a jig body jig. I'll have to figure out the casting distance thing, possibly go with a more limber rod or a heavier jig and I think the slower fall rate will be fantastic, once I get on fish. The action looked great on the "pink phantom" jig.
