Way back when I did a little guiding on Toledo Bend, late 1970's and most know what a cold front does to bass fishing, but the guides always had a small trick they used back then and I know it will still work and work great! All Black Marabou Jig with a Black soft plastic worm added on too. Fish over the Hydrilla with a somewhat light head, maybe 1/8 or less. It's a killer!

I had a picture of one, but just can not find it, just all Black with a 4" Soft Plastic Worm added to the hook to extend the tail past the marabou part. It work and is an easy tie, just give it a try!

Tom, I can see them working very well. I’ve found schools of shad in TN that filled my downscan and sonar, couldn’t buy a fish in those conditions. Move out of the middle to the edge and a few feet away and it was game on. Predators always look for an easy meal away from the crowd. I’ve never found them like that here, must be the difference in temps. Those ties that Len posted would have kept me in smallmouth for a good while, very nice work. Details can be the difference between good fish and no fish, and those jigs are heavy with details.
