Then ya know about our muddy waters Skip. Never seen my jig six inches down. River/bayou fishing is a way diff animal than a lot of fresh water lakes most on here fish. Especially if it’s influenced by tides. It’s something that really is never discussed much on the website and there’s only a certain few who get it. I’ll be lucky if I ever get it completely figured out.
    But I enjoy trying!
Thx all for looking at my whittlings.
Doug, just sparse marabou. Good to see you around.

Might get a two hour window this Sat and have managed to tie up 5 jigs for the trip. I’ll take any contributions Old

That's a good looking stained water jig!

Oh yes I know the water pretty well as where I grew up in Orange we have the same kind of stuff, lol! When close enough to the coast to be impacted by the tides alms with everything else, the water is pretty stained. Here on Toledo Bend in the part I am at we get a little more stained than a lot of the lake does and after a big rain, it's really bad and I go to a Hot Orange tail on my little Roadrunners and seems to be really good here. I do believe they think crawfish when they see it.

As a kid a lot of my duck hunting was at Holly Beach and then mush later use to fish a good bit at the Sabine Refuge. That was a run of about 45 min in that old flat bottom boat and we kept another boat at the refuge so we just take a small motor to put on it when we got there and go fishing in the impoundment. Running the bayous to get there.

Also fished some over at Big Lake near Lake Charles, was great Speckled trout fishing too! Also had some great offshore trips out of Cameron on the Sunrise and then he got the Sunrise 2 I think. Long time ago, but dang we had a ball going out 80 miles and catching the heck out of Snapper.
