That's what I've always heard. My 10 pound Lee pot was purchased in 1986, and it has melted 100's of pounds of wheel weights. Still pours as good today as it did when I bought it. Just takes a long time to melt 60-70 pounds of tire weights, 1/2 to 1.5 oz at a time.

Yep, not quite as cold here, but the wind was 20 to 25 mph with gust to 40, temp around 35 yesterday morning.

Some real nice ties, the tiny ones at about 9and 5 o’clock would get some play in my bluegill spot.

A few years ago I got into some real dirty lead, and I’m not sure where I got it. Had to disassemble and clean twice in just a few months. I have used a cast iron pot on the camp stove ever since. Once I do that I have no issues. I run my pot pretty hot so a lot of wheel weight issues haven’t bothered me.

Beautiful picture Skip! I haven’t gotten out in a little while and that makes me want to go TODAY!!!

I used to spend hours going through buckets of wheel weights at my local garage, but it was worth it! Never had had problems with them if they were checked, but do it outside and have a lid to put on top so if there is any moisture it hits the lid and not you!!
