Be interesting to know what those quill looking things are. Maybe like a bodkin or something?

That's a nice collection Skip. Surprising how in almost 80 yrs how little has changed with the tools. Usually that's not the case.

Well in the tools there are bodkin type things and these are not is the same box.

it is a nice collection and I sure appreciated him giving it to me. The small scissors or very small, but you right a lot still the same or at least close enough like what we use now.

Cool stuff Skip and a generous friend. Shadow box material. Like Jack, I think those are quill floats, probably making his own with real quills. Most of those these days are small in comparison. Ship will comment on those I’m sure.

Out of curiosity I looked. You can still buy quill fishing floats. They are for micro fishing now. Then they were for shy bream. Idid see where they were used as floats for tenkara ( Japanese fly fishing)

Yes Skeet and I sure appreciated he would think of me, but I guess seeing my jigs on FB did that and he said that didn't think he could sell them in his antique store, lol! I have not gone through all the feathers as some are in small boxes as most everything was and I just put all the feathers in the freezer just incase. I will take them out in a few days and then about a day or little more will put them back in the freezer for a few days and then will bright hem in a take a good look at the old feathers. I did see a sandwich bag stuffed full of Lemon Wood Duck hackle.

I am wondering if it's possible this silk is still good after all this time?
