Yes that can happen, but I use my bodkin to place the eye and then use a finger on top to pull bodkin away. I have tried a lot of ways and have had the glue stick my finger to the eye, lol! It is a bit maddening for me and if I didn't have so many walleye heads and eyes I wouldn't use them!

Oh and just because it's one of the things that has caught on, I doubt the pretty 3D eyes add many bites. I still believe a regular jig will do just as well.

Maybe I should also add I have never sold any jigs with glue on eyes!

That's like what I do except I use a straight pin to apply and hold then put finger on top to remove. That is when it glues to my finger...lol. I just enjoy the hobby of jig making and I doubt the fish mind. Nothing like a well crafted jig. Works of art!!! Now that I think of it..... I didn't use a jig with eyes yesterday and it was tough. Maybe I should have used eyes.....

Too funny! The bodkin is super skinny sharp point and I use it to get paint out of eye after baking if necessary, but also use it for the glue and that bodkin has a flat end with a hole in it and it's kind of cupped and I use it to move the eye if I need to. The hard part is keeping finger out of the glue! Also yesterday maybe a Black dot for an eye would have been just as good?

If you are looking for a UV coating give UV Blast by Component Systems a try.

He's just looking for a better glue for the eyes! UV Blast I have had for years and just about don't use it any longer really. It's good, but I am happy with just using Florescent colors for that kind of attraction.

I use the exact same method to attach my eyes. I use a small xacto knife to remove them off the pad.
