While I have lots of the "flashier" colors in jigs and plastic I just seem to prefer the more natural looks, especially when I'm tying jigs. I do like to incorporate flashabou in my natural colored jigs though. Don't really know why I prefer tying/using natural colors. Maybe I'm just an oddball.

Usually we like tying things we like to fish with, so don't see it as an oddball thing at all. When I started liking the Chartreuse and Blue so much, most still prefer Chartreuse and Black, but I have had lots of guys that like the Gray Ghost more than any other. I also believe it has a lot to do with the water we each fish and lakes are different, even ones close like Rayburn and Toledo Bend. While close and lots of colors cross over each has a color or colors that work better in one lake over the other. Not to mention that there are a lot of different methods and they can sure impact color choice.

Blue and white with a little flash in a white tail seem to work good here. I have tied lots of jigs in chartreuse, pink, blue, etc. just like the look of something natural. Like you mentioned we tie what we like to fish with!

Can't argue with that especially if the lure catches fish consistently. Color choice might not be a factor using certain lures or it might be. Recently I've been catching fish on clear soft plastic lures and the water is tannin stained.
    Example:

It caught crappie, bass and sunfish. I don't if the color comes under the description as a natural color, but fish don't think about what they see - they strike anyway. But to be totally honest, I used Mend-It glue on the tail to add a fine chartreuse glitter for flash.

Way back when I was still chasing bass we used some clear top water baits often and did well with them. We also use to use a bone color popper a good bit. In the spring if it was raining the bass would go crazy over a Gold Rogue!

If they will hit it, I say use it!
