As far as clear water, should we do a lot of color as well as natural colors?

Ok, guys, Shmang has joined us and we have a swap and a full roster. As far as a due date, I want to make sure that everyone has enough time to get their jigs in without feeling rushed. Some of these guys have a busy schedule already. So, how does August 15 sound? If anyone thinks they would have a problem getting their jigs to me, please let me know ASAP.

Now, for you guys who are new to Jig Swapping here, if you will look at the Swap sub-forum, the very first Sticky post, by Stump Hunter is called “How To Prepare And Mail Swap Jigs.” Please read, understand and follow the instructions there. It will make life much easier for all of us.

Thank you you all for joining. Now, let’s have some fun.

John1986, the rule of thumb about what colors to fish depending on whether it is a bright day or a dark day also seems to apply to water clarity as well. I have found that a Bobby Garland “Blue Ice” on a white head works. Also a light green works well here. If you happen to know what a “Fish Stalker Slab Tail jig is, (plastic again). Their “Ugly Green” works well here also. It’s a fairly light green shade with speckles. A silver head also works well. A “Gray Ghost” is always good. Think in terms of light blue, lavender, bright yellow and Chartreuse are good colors. Be sure to add a bit of flash to your pattern. Sparkle is always good, but not too much flash. Just a few strands. Gold is another color that works well in clear water. These are just random thoughts that come to my mind and I’m putting them down as they come. Excuse the randomness of this post. Just mix and match, play around with it and see what looks good to you.

Just when I thought I knew what I was going to make, more ideas pop in my head making it more crowded and confused than a Bronx sub-way at quitting time...Now let me sort through it all and see what I can come up with...

Guys, here is what I am working on for the Clear Water Swap. But before I go any further, I want you guys to tell me what you think. I like the holographic tinsel material but I don't like the way it curls. But I haven't found a way to straighten it. Any suggestions? Please take a good look and if you see something I could change or improve, PLEASE let me know.

    Thanks

if your tinsel comes off a spool it will most likely have a memory. if it comes off a hank it normally doesnt curl unless it is streched
