Made some fluid beds and tried painting today. I copied SK's beds, but the brown paper I used must have been too thin, had little jets everywhere, so I tried copy paper and it worked better. They came out great IMO.

Clockwise from top left: black, gold, junebug flake, and chartreuse. Did 1/16 and some 1/32 oz jigs.

I have a couple colors powder paint but never used them yet. Been using fingernail polish.

Once I got going, it was not too hard, and I was done in about a half hour. I spent more time cleaning up the flash and knocking down bumps on the jigs themselves with a file. Then I wiped the head with alcohol on a paper towel. I held them in forceps by the eye, heated over heat gun about 6-8 seconds, dipped in paint, heat again a sec or two, then onto foil. I use a dental pick to clear any eyes, but that only happenned after the forceps got gummed up. I scraped that off between colors.

I have a folding rack (for roasting chickens, etc) I never use, and it was perfect for hanging jigs on. So I took a cookie sheet, covered it with foil, put the rack on, and baked at 325F for 15 min. They look as good as any I have ever bought.

Question on amount of powder in a 2" (made from a 2" PVC40 coupling) fluid bed? I just dumped in the whole 1 oz jar.

Some of the guys said to put just a couple tablespoons in the cup. I tried it and my 2" Cup is working like a champ now. I'm only using about 3-4 tsp's in mine. I've also mixed some clear gloss powder in mine as was suggested by some and it really helped with some of my paints. Made them flow a whole lot better. I put about 2/3 paint to 1/3 gloss. I made the same mistake of putting half my jar of paint in my cup to start with. ¯\_(?)_/¯ live and learn

I put the whole jar in mine, but I used 3" set up. Also, don't have air valve on/ open when you plug in air, open valve very, very slowly...adjust to what is needed to make paint fluidly, without the volcano effects...I have a different cup for each container, and store with a cap...
