    Default Perch & Gill Teasers

Some jigs and flies. I got the idea for a few I think from Mr. Ledhed many moons ago. The thread body covered with Sally's diamond dust don't do well with camera flash but they are killers on gills thru the ice. Most are 1/64 or less. A few have tails made from squirrel zonker strips. They really come alive in the water like a mini leech.

Middle pic, bottom right and the all black in the bottom pic really catch my eye. All good jigs, never thought of multiple colored beads but a nice touch. The mallard flank also look good. Heck, just send em to me and I’ll do some testing......

Those look fantastic. I have given a lot of thought to tying up a bunch in 64th for the winter season vertically jigging brush. I think that they would fall very slowly. As I really like a 32 for the winter.

Tahoe, if you use a 1/32 and tie it with cactus or estaz chenille it will fall as slow or slower than a 1/64. Sometimes the slow fall is the ticket. I like my 1/64 though.

Sonny will be proud I’m sure. Looks real similar to his style.

No way even close to the big gills LedHed gets. Those 12" fish are something special for sure. A big gill up my way is 7".

I wished I could remember where I first saw those diamond dust jigs but it was at least 10 years ago. I quit buying ice jigs. Used them thru the ice on Lake Erie and for soft water panfish. Eventually started adding extra lead into the body for a faster sink rate on 1/64 oz and smaller jigs just on ice jigs. Thanks for sharing your idea.
