    Default Everyday item tying materials

Let’s see picks of jigs or flies you have tied using household or everyday materials, I’m talking anything that looks good to tie with, ideas without pics are also welcome

Yarn and thread are good and a feather duster could also work. Maybe you have some such feathers from hunting or know a friend that hunts. Lots of other bird feathers are available, but be sure not to use one that will get you in trouble!

I just gave a guy at work some jigs I tied with yarn. Let me look and see if I have anymore I can take pic of. If not I will tie something up. I actually use yarn pretty regularly now especially once I brush it and make it like the dubbing.

My first attempt at tying was this spring using vise grips, a bench vise and sewing thread on a piece of threaded rod. Super glued the tread and colored it with a sharpie and used my beard hair to make a jig I call Ole Grey Beard. Caught a bunch of crappie and bluegills on it.
The older I get the more I realize the therapeutic benefits of fishing

Now that’s a clever idea! Plus, they are being made from a renewable resource LOL
