Default Black & Chartreuse W/ Guinea Collar

This is a 3/32 head that I wanted to try using a Guinea collar, but think I picked one a little larger than I wanted, mistake I can correct next time, lol!

These are the colors I am catching with. Not this fancy though.

The only time I got in to any so far this year also was caught on same color, but not like this one. This is something I just wanted to try and I still have a mother kind of feather I want to try as a collar, the Silver Pheasant body hackle which are kind of hard to get now I think hard to find in quantity for the wholesalers. I bought some years ago and never have tied even one yet, lol! I have a lot of things like that and still want to try them. I also really want to get back into tying Rope Dub method jigs. My friend that came up with that is having a hard time as he had a big stroke last year, but I have is DVD on doing it and I just need to practice it some more.

Very nice Skip. Things have been crazy at the house lately. I need to get back to tying some. Tonight might be the night.

Yes I use to do a lot of that with all kinds of wide Hackle of all kinds, even Chucker Flank Hackle. It';s been a good while since I used these much, just busy doing other things I guess. I have a pound of this Chartreuse Guiana and I may as well use it for something other than sitting in a drawer, lol!

I also have some Silver Pheasant that I want to use like this.

Nice stuff Skip. I wondered how that would turn out if I tried that so you kinda answered a question for me without me even asking. Good job! Like the colors in the collar.

Deepfry nailed it - that long collar will be just fine for you! I fish a ton of Soft Hackles for trout and like the longer collar. It will act as a "veil" around the chenille and tail and add a lot of movement even when dead sticked. If you dont like it send it to me A really nice jig for sure>
