Default Some balanced GID jig flies this afternoon.

These are a #12, 2 #14 and 1 #16 balanced jig flies in my most productive color combo for shallow spawning crappie and bluegill here on my home lake. I fish them under a float. Caught 20 crappie with 16 keepers yesterday afternoon in 3 hours in water that was 24" deep. I was using the #14 size. been fishing this water for 25 years and this green chartreuse / black color combo has always been the best. Just thought I would share will you all.

These look good and I do have a ton of fly hooks just sitting in my drawer! I bought a lot of packs of Daiichi fly hooks and they are super nice and sharp, but I just don't tie enough of them, but need to!

They liked the #14 size best. It is 1 1/8",long. One of about 20 yesterday afternoon. Name: 20190415_211658.jpeg

Trout guys routinely catch 2# plus fish on #16 and #18's.

Split tail and darkening white male. Must be northward? Nice fish.

Kentucky Lake. Almost all white males in spawning color. Very few females and no blacks. Thanks for liking my jigs. I really enjoy tying them.

Very nice jigs. I’d take a lesson or two on how to build them. Nice fish too.
