Wondering if there was anyway to make a soft plastic tail with maybe braid inside it running out so you could tie onto a hand tie jig? I think maybe dipping the braid into plastic would do this???

Thread the braid through a sewing needle...heat the tip of the needle the insert needle into soft plastic bait and push and pull the needle and braid through
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

If there was a mold for it then I am sure guys could make them, just never seen a soft plastic tail separate from a bait.

You should ask Snake River (Bob) as he know a lot about soft plastics, maybe post it on the DIY Soft Plastics board? Looks above our threads and see the sub-broads for this one.

There is a salt water shrimp imitation called a Vudu that has a couple of nylon threads running through it that allows it to be thinner for action but adds toughness. Look at one of those and maybe you can glean an idea or two.

Thanks for that. From what I gather online it is a Kevlar weave that goes through it.

Not really wanting to buy a mold. It’s just to try something. I think I’m gonna do as “G” suggest for now because I have everything and no cost involved.
