    Default Rosy-Red Minnow

I discovered the other day that a friend of mine is also a Crappie fisherman. He told me how he and his dad used to get “pink” minnows and fish for crappie with them.

I had seen green night crawlers, but had never heard of pink minnows and wondered if it was done in a similar way. I did a quick internet search and I think what he was talking about Rosy-Red minnows. For the heck of it, I decided to try making something close.

    Here is my humble attempt...

Several years ago I had a bunch of samples made trying to get close to what a Rosey Red and ended up buying 4 of them since the colors of that minnow vary so much. I learned of them in Arkansas fishing with a guide and had never seen them before. They are so much better than a shiner and hardier too!

If you want to see the colors I have just send me a PM.

Nice tie on the jig, looks good!
