Default Buying the right tools to begin with

I plan to buy the tools and materials I need to make my own jigs.
I learned a lesson years ago wen I started reloading ammo.
I bought a starter kit an a year later I had replaced almost everything.

Where can I go to get everything need from the start ?

Good advice so far. I was lucky to have Skip and many others point me in the right direction and shorten my learning curve. Buying good tools from the start is a big advantage and makes learning so much easier. Welcome to the addiction and I look forward to seeing your work.......Skeet.

What the others said. I would also second what skeet said about relying on several others on here with experience to shorten that learning curve and eliminate some of the most common frustrations.

Well the tail material he knew what he wanted, just showed me a jig he likes and wants to tie. It was Hackle, but he also wanted Marabou. Actually these are the ones I would recommend as long as the guy wanted to tie jig with a feather tail. Some lean to hair/fur, but to start he wanted feather tails.

Personally spring and fall I use Marabou pretty much full time and summer I add Hackle to that.

Now when the water is on the cool side here I will also try a kip tail or squirrel tail jig. I do also like fox, but my favorite hair is rabbit and for me it's like the Marabou of Hair.
