Plus rabbit is one of the hair jigs I/you don’t want a collar. I like a collar when tying most hair, but rabbit strips are best with no collar so same heads that we tie on all the time.

Skip --- I been tying some jigs a couple of years and been using the Head Cement with the brush... I found my last bottle dried up because the cap was not real tight.. I bought some thread, Chenille and bottle of glue. While shopping I saw like a Applicator Pin thingey for putting the glue on the jig.. what do you use to get the glue into the Applicator---- I just turned over my new Bottle of head Cement and do not want a repeat performance on my table again -- thanks Skip
I sue a small funnel, craft or perfume I can’t remember, and thin it halfway with acetone. Sally Hanson is what I use for head cement. Same applicator bottle with the pin. I do all that pouring and mixing in the shop or over cardboard as a little mess is inevitable. Good luck with it.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
I don't use what they call head cement on chenille jigs unless it for coating over he head. Head cement really is for flitting head made from thread. So for glue on chenille jigs I make my own from Clear High Gloss Lacquer and MEK thinner. I mix it close to 50/50 in one of the little applicator bottles. I bought a qt of each the Lacquer and MEK something like 14 years ago and both are still about half full so expect they will last another 14 years. The cost is way less than buying a bunch of head cement bottles and you don't get a hard spot on your chenille from mine. It also penetrates super fast and dries also super fast. I have never had any trouble from this and all you need is one good drop!
Originally I got this idea fro the guys on FAOL, the site I recommend more than any other on tying! They also have a great tips page!
I also make my own flex glue, but that is a whole other thing and I use that for thread neck jigs and a few other things.

i went to the drug store and bought a box of oral syringes and use that without a needle. I also don’t use head cement on chenille jigs. Mix Clear High Gloss Lacquer and thinner, I mix it thin so it soaks in and dries fast, about a 50/50 mix and I don’t actually measure!

Going to go against the grain here...
Don't go hog wild and spend a bunch of money on tools until you are sure tying is something you enjoy and are going to stick with. You can easily spend hundreds of dollars just getting started. Buy a cheap kit to learn on and once you outgrow your tools you can always upgrade later.
Better to spend $50 than $500 if it's just going to sit in a box in the garage.
Don't worry, catch crappie.LedHed LIKED above post
