    Default My first attempt

Got some jig heads painted and bought some supplies - here are my first 2 attempts. Not great, but I'm happy with the start and think I will get better with practice!

Hey I bet a crappie will hit them! Looks good for your first and I don't think my first were as good as yours. Took me a while to get my act together, but that was 12 14 years ago now, lol!

Yes, I agree they are a tad long... learning how to get the right length as I go. Did a few more and trimmed off the back end and they look better... work in progress

Wannagofishin, those look real good. Only thing I wil add is in your last post you said you trim off the back end. This makes the tail a bit stiff and looses action in the tail. You really should do the trimming or shortening before you get the tail material tied in. I use a tad bit longer than the shank of the hook when measured from the front of the jig head. But they do ook great and no doubt will catch fish. Welcome to the world of tying.

Have to agree with Jamesdean, never cut the natural ends off! Always cut to length before it's tied in.
