Skip.. I had to go look to see which it was and you're right. I had saddle hackle for both. Here is one following your instructions.

Any better? Thanks for your help.
Okay yes that is better, now practice to have the hackle curve with the hook, meaning that you have to hold the hackle just a little to your side when you start to tie it in. That is because it will roll some, but hold it tight and it will not be so much that you can't control it. That way your jigs will always look the same. Let me post a pic of you to get what I mean.

Now this is one Hackle tip and probably 3 of my little V's. You can see my super short video on cutting feathers on the sticky.

Hope you have plenty of extra money laying around....... you'll be buying tying stuff every day.

Next you'll start pouring jigs (unless you already do) then of course you'll need to paint em, and before you know it, you have a mini tackle warehouse in your house.

Yes that looks good and I bet you like that tail better right? Anyway after a while it will get easier to do.

Now just work on a nice smooth body and it will as good as it can get IMHO! I say this and it's hard for me not to think of a segmented body that your kind of looks like so I bet that will work fine too for the fish!

    Good job,
