Leather paints are acrylic-based paints created specifically for work on leather and faux leather. Though you can also use standard acrylic paints from a craft store, leather paints are not much more expensive and are made to adhere to these types of materials without chipping, peeling, or cracking over time.)

Hey Bob,
I do not have any info for you on leather vinyl paint.....Several years ago before switching to powder paint for all my jigs I had always used "vinyl lure and jig paint".
It was a good ,durable,descent looking paint....I still use it to paint eyes over powder paint....I may be telling you what you already know...I really like your jigs,have looked at them several times ,and will give you an order in the future.....

Vinyl lure and jig paint is specifically designed for lead jigs.
(look at CS Coatings--Do-it and others sell their products)
Use white base coat for best results

To my understanding Leather companies have been using acrylics to paint leather for a very long time,
So I would give a prime white coat first to play safe
