Nobody?? Lol
I've got a guy wanting me to try and hand tie a Tennessee Shad. Do any of you have any you've tied I can look at, or a recipe? Thanks!
Sorry, not I. I checked google and could not really find anything in the way of a tied jig. I seen plastics though.

did some of these for a swap awhile back...
minnow head jig 1/16th #4 VMC hook
3/0 flat wax fluorescent white thread
Fluorescent white marabou fluffs, fluorescent red thread and chartreuse crystal flash tail
Perhaps he can provide a little more information. There are many type of shad. If you know which species of shad he wants to imitate I am sure some one could help. Also what stage in its life. This way you will know the size of the imitation also.

Thank you all for responding. Ledhed, those are close to what he is wanting me to tie, just a shade or two off. Here's what he wants me to mimic:
Well if you want split colors along the longitudinal then your gonna have to do a skunk jig type tie. One color all the way, but before that color you tie in what will be the bottom color of the jig and leave hanging off the back. Tie in top color all the way, then just pull the one left hanging off the back over the top and trap it and finish. There have been several post recently of jigs tied like this.
Have seen some tied like this, but can't find ones I was looking for, but this is about the same I think? http://www.crappie.com/crappie/jig-t...366455-playin/
Skip
Thanks skip, I tie Texas Avocado that way, but sometimes it doesn't snug up throughout the jig body just right, like it doesn't look uniform if that makes any sense. The jig you posted is close, I think I'm needing something more of an olive color. Would peacock hurl work as the striped part on a skunk style jig?
You could use a "peacock rope"
or calftail tye the bottom and top down at the tail
