    Default Walleye Weapons

I get to go to Canada next month for a walleye fishing trip on Lake Wabatongushi.

I decided to try tying some marabou jigs to take with me to try out.

1/0 sickle hooks, 3/16 heads. These were some of my earliest jig heads I painted back at the first of the year, so they aren't the best.

Maybe I should have added some flash?

Anyone recommend any other color patterns that might work well? The water is pretty clear up there!

    Those look pretty good.

I would maybe add some white or pearl. Try a pink head, white body, and a pink tail. Or, white head, pink body, white tail. Also do some combinations of purple. Lots of our lakes in Michigan (Erie and Huron), the go to color combinations include pearl, pink, and purple!

    Thanks for the feedback!

What do you think about the amount or length of the tail?

    Should there be any flash?

Nice looking jigs. Don't know about walleye but them would sure tear up some big crappie down here.

I agree with Charlie on that
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

Ok, how about some of these? Sorry that white tails don't show well against my "special" white background.

    Any favorites here?

Judging by your bright colors on the first post, I have some you may like for Walleye, but we don't have any of them here!

Skip, tell the wife you need to do some field testing and come to Canada with us Walleye Weapons

    Those are pretty nice!

Our group normally back-trolls pulling crawler harnesses behind bottom bouncers. I've tried to get some of them to try jigging, but they are die hards and won't try.

Therefore, I have very little jigging experience up there to know what works the best. I guess I should take some hackle jigs and try those too.

My wife and one of my sons are going this year, so I will have more chance of jigging with them.

No offense to forum members, but toe There's nothing quite like eating fresh-caught walleye! Crappie and perch are a close second though.
