Sure. Id love to help, but I'm sure it's not any diff than how everybody else does it though. I'll try to take a picture if I have time after work tonight.
I tie a good bit of rabbit, but I am thinking your doing something different and I would love to get a better idea of exactly how your tying the zonkers in. I have never tied them like you are as far as I can tell, but would like to try this way if your willing?
I better description to crack through this think head of mine would be great and maybe a pic of the start? I have a ton of rabbit and just love the stuff! Any help you can give would be appreciated!

Dunno if this is worth anything but all I had time for tonight. Forgive my working hands.
I cut em about yay long
Check em against my hook shank
If it's good, I spread the two to work around the shank uniformly.
The rest is just tying in the material basics. Importance of first few wraps, cinching and then working back, etc etc
I like to go back to here
People get discouraged about Hyde showing… fish don't care. But you can hide that lil bit a million ways Ifn ya want. Look at older Scott V posts or check out Attica's post on another site.
Hope I helped someone.

Question what size are those zonker strips? I noticed hareline has some micro zonker strips. I am going to do some 1/32 and 1/64 with #8 sickle under float so I'm thinking maybe I need the small size? I should tie some to cast but I always use flies under float and cast plastics... I think it's just all in my head lol...
He's using the magnum ones 1/4" wide, think that is what he said earlier!
Micro... I figured that is what you were talking about, but just not sure at all so is why I ask. I have always just done what fly tiers do which is just tie in the Zonker and let the one strip be the tail. I kind of like your way better for out jigs, but think I will mostly stick to the 1/8" wide strips. Also usual when I have the rabbit have a tail without showing the hide it has always been a crosscut strip and that is just tied in a wrapped up to the head and also make the body all at one time.
Will try some this way and see what I see!
Thank you!

VA mot of the micro strips I've seen are regular straight cut zonkers which you can use but you have to pull the hair back as you wrap.
I remember Attica doing that now, makes for a nice base for a big body, thinking a thin cut strip 2 wraps and put the chenille on wrap tight a couple of half hitch's then advance the thread up to the head wrap your chenille up and then tie off. But I also see how doing it your way could use up some pieces of rabbit hide that I usually cut the hair off to make dubbing!!

Micropterus thank you for showing how you tie your rabbit jigs and is close to one way I tie mine, but I use Tear Mender to glue the strips together. Most I just tie in a wrap.
