    Default Weedless Heads

I'm looking to try out some weedless heads. Do you guys know where I can get some that work well for tying and keep from losing so many in the brush? I never have liked the thought of using weedless but I'm going through a pile of jigs some days. Thanks

Send a PM to Grousefly, and ask him which version of his weedless jigs he would rather use to tie. I know he ties some, when ordered, but says they're a pain to do

I use his weedless jig heads, but I put plastics on the hook. I even use his "Chet fly" jig, which is similar to a Jiffy Jig (plastic body segment with marabou tail).

He makes many different styles of weedless jigs, and can custom make them to most anyone's specifications (as far as weedguard & hook color, hook size, etc). Here's a pic of some :

I have tried several styles and like the toothbrush bristle type best. Grousefly made the ones I have now and Bugman also made some for me that did very well.

Thanks fellows. I'll give grousefly a shout. It does look like it may be a pain to tie around that weedguard but I'll give it a try.

Is why I don't tie one weedless heads. Have been ask, but didn't ever feel what I would charge to do that would be reasonable. Just think it's more of a pain that I am willing to do. even for my self, just don't do it, but that is just me too.

Some heads will allow you to add the fiber bristle guards after the painting/tying is done. I know some larger heads will allow this, but the small ones might balk if you can't keep the thread off the hole. I think a hair/feather jig with a good hackle is as weedless as the guards make them.
