    Default Pic Heavy

    Hey Guys-

Sorry to bombard you with pics again but don't know any other way to get feedback. I ordered and received some neck hackle and tried that opposed to the saddle hackle I was using.

Skip - thanks for all your help and suggestions. Hopefully, they will catch fish. They should be on their way up into the shallows this week.

One thing I started doing was carrying the wrap back almost back to the first bend of the hook. This really made the body/chenille wrap look fuller and not as skimpy. You may notice in the pics when I started doing this because some look better than others.

    Your welcome!

You have some with good colors for sure and some I use a lot here with minor changes to mine. Like the first one, it's much like the Popeye jigs I make only mine have a White head and a big Black eye. Black and Fl Yellow tail and I use Red thread for that one and no chenille. I tie it as a thread neck and is very good one too!

#4 jig is exactly the best here when I can see the jig 3' or more down in the water, but know some guys did well even when it was not so clear. Only thing different on mine is I use a Silver or Chrome head.

#6 for me I still like the White tail best with that type tie, but your should be good too! Plus even an unpainted head that is new and shiny then is the same as my one like your #4.

#7 looks much like a Gray ghost and is a very popular jig in lots of places!

#8 Chart/Blue/Chart is my favorite here bar none! Only time I start looking at other colors is when the water clears more or if the water is stained enough for me to get out the Hot Orange tails.

EXCELLENT WORK!! Color choices are great & the proportions are fine. Long body or short, if the tail is around the hook shank they both worn.

Saltwater Neck Hackle can be bought at Bob Marriott's and JS Flyfishing. Look for the feathers packaged by Hareline Dubbin as theirs is Saltwater Neck Hackle. If you need a link you can just PM me or I probably have a link in the Sticky Post at the top of this board about materials??

Yeah, one of the guys on here helped me out and pointed me to J. Stockard Fly Fishing. I just googled them and placed an order for Hairline neck hackle which is saltwater neck hackle. I would have never known the difference if it wasn't for these guys.
