    I have some acetone and will give that a try; if that doesn't do it, Dremel abrasion should.

    The thing about just painting over it I don't like is that the old paint flakes off so easily, new paint applied over it would probably just flake off with it.

    I think in the end you will wish you had just tossed them an started over. Too much work to save a few pennies. Sometimes I take pliers and cut off the painted lead heads and toss them in my lead pot. Then I pour a few new jigheads after fluxing.

    Pour some acetone in a cup or glass you don't want to use anymore and soak your jigs. 30 minutes later and you should see progress.

    Found this old thread searching for paint removal options. I will add that PVC primer works very well too and alot of the time people have that laying around.
